Why is REDC sending me a letter about a Deed in Lieu just after I got a mod offer from BOA?

    Hello,

I'm assuming this is more of the terrible disorganization with BOA. Without going into complete details , I just completed a 3 month trial mod on my first mortgage. BOA had finally decided to give me this after I completed the first 6 months of hardest hit. They then sent me the paperwork to be filed by the end of this month for the permanent mod. In addition, I surprisingly received a letter saying that my 2nd mortgage had been forgiven.. I'm also waiting on possible more coverage from the 2nd half of the hardest hit program to cover my back balance on the first mortgage.

There is more to this story, but today I received an alarming and seemingly unrelated letter from this REDC solutions company. It was on BOA letterhead, but it does look a bit suspicious. In the letter, it states that my mortgage "could not" be modified, and then goes into an offer for a DIL. Did my name somehow get stuck on a list with these people? Is BOA just hopelessly disorganized, and I'll never know what's up? I don't see any court case with my name on it for foreclosure, so I'm not sure what to make of this. Thanks for any help.

Do you have an in-house or HAMP? I got this letter after starting trial payments because I was first turned down for HAMP. At least that's what my rep said.

As an update, I gathered the paperwork for the loan mod, and didn't realize they had dated the letter aug 16, and asked for the paperwork to be returned by august 26th. I missed this "paperwork date" on the trial payments too, because hardest hit is so slow. The letter seems to focus on the payment date of october 1st, so I hope it will be OK if I return the paperwork this week. Perhaps this is why this REDC company got my name to send out this letter. I'm not sure.

The loan mod paperwork says for Fannie Mae. This is the permanent mod paperwork I received late August.

The only thing I'm concerned about is the forgiveness I got on the 2nd. Not sure if that was another bailout for them making my underwater home more "attractive" for them to foreclose on. It's been very difficult , because I had previously been dealing with a local USELESS hud office for the hardest hit program. My goal was to get the back balance covered with hardest hit because that would be a better plan for me than the mod. However, they are simply not responding to my requests for status on the hardest hit, and now the time is up since this loan mod offer has been put up and i made the trial payments.
