BOA Mod,but still weird letters received.

I just have one(1) more payment to make on my "3 month trial mod." I was working with an account
rep in Calif. who just went on and on about they were still working on it,yadda yadda yadda. Then I got
a notice they were in the foreclosure process. I contacted the office of the President, thanks to info on this
wonderful forum, and then emailed them. I told them what an unfair practice it was for me to be working on
the modification, complying w/everything,etc. Two(2) hours later a call from the office of the President! I'm
working with a very sharp great AR now.................HOWEVER, today I get a letter from BOA that states:

First paragraph: "We recently received your payment of $1919.63" I paid the trial mod.payment of $1442.58??!?

"The payment was less than the total amount needed to bring your loan up to date." However,we have applied
the above referenced payment to your loan in accordance with your loan terms." What????????????

"We previously sent you a notice informing you of the amount needed to reinstate your loan. The acceleration
date of May 16 2009 provided on that notice remains in effect." What???? You never sent me any notice
    to that effect????

I do plan to call my AR first thing in the am. This is just another example of BOA STILL the right hand NOT
knowing what the left hand is doing!!! I have faith all is well, but sheesh BOA get your act together!

Any thoughts or comments on this?

Welcome and thanks for joining the community.

I'm glad to hear you found some good contacts here in the forum that helped get your account back on track. Since you are about to make your 3rd trial payment it definitely sounds like this letter was sent out by mistake. Like you said often times one hand(dept) has no idea what the other is doing and this can cause miscommunication to the borrower. I'm sure tomorrow when you call in to inquire about the letter the rep assigned to your account will verify this letter was sent out by mistake..

Cover, I too have my third trial payment coming up, and I got the same exact letter.

Were you able to find out anything regarding this letter?

Illstay- I spoke to my AR and he stated that I should disregard the letter. He did give me a couple
of reasons why they sent the letter, albeit I believe it was just his opinion, but all I heard was "disregard
the letter". He assured me all was well, make my third trial payment and keep moving forward.

Thanks for letting me know! I thought that was probaby the case. Can you please post what happens after your third payment and when? Frankly, I'm still a bit skeptical, as our trial payment is such a low percentage of our income. Even though it's an in-house and not HAMP, I'm still kind of skeptical that the permanent would be this low.

Some people end up saving a significant amount when being approved for a trial period whether it be for HAMP or a regular in-house modification. For the majority of cases where a trial period is involved (probably 90%) if approved for a permanent modification the payment should be very close, if not exactly the same amount as the trial period payment..

    Trial/Permanent Mod Question

Was "working" with a customer relations manager months ago. I was getting no where
with the account rep. and thanks to this forum I was able to reach out to office of the
President and got a response within 2 hours of sending my email. In May I made my first
trial payment directly through my account manager in that office. I made all 3 payments
and now awaiting the permanent review. The gent I have been working with is great and
seems to have a great deal of competence, etc. I feel confident when speaking with him.

However today I receive a letter from BOA from a lady introducing herself as our new
customer relationship manager??? States she will continue to work with my previous account
manager. Is she referring to the first AM I had that I got no where with?? I want to continue
to work with my current AM who is in the office of the President and get this permanent mod.
    settled.

I put a call into my AM but he was out of the office till tomorrow.

Anyone else experience anything like this?

This is not too uncommon, often times your account will be transferred to various reps in which will be assigned your case to give you updates on the mod. If you just made your final trial payment you should be getting an answer very soon and I would not stress that you have a new CRM assigned to your account. If you have any problems and the new CRM does not seem to know much about your account feel free to contact the OOP again to get the situation resolved.

Thanks for the reassurance Evan. I'm always a little paranoid when working with BOA,for as we all know it's not a
smooth ride working with them! Would you suggest I at least reach out to my contact at the OOP and just get his
take on it. I remember when I first spoke to him his words were "I will be your rep from here on out." Heck knowing
BOA he may not even know this occurred .

Again I appreciate your words of calm. I doubt we could get through this process without this excellent forum!

Thank you so much for the kind words and you can never be too cautious going through this process. Yes, honestly if it were myself I would contact my old rep from the OOP and let them know about the offer as well even though everything seems to be on track.

Hi, just to give you a quick update. I spoke with my AR at the OOP and he sated not to be
concerned as it's more a formality. He said he doubted I would even be contacted by this particular
new AR. He said that he gets involved when customers have a complaint which is where he stepped
in to help and work with me. Said I could still call him and make the payments, etc.

However just yesterday I get yet another letter from another AR introducing herself as my new
Account Manager! I'm looking everyday for that Fed Ex package with my permanent mod papers!!!

These letters are often times automatically generated so it sounds like they are being sent out by mistake. Personally I would just ignore the letter and continuing following up with your rep from the OOP for updates on your account.

    Good luck!

    Got it!!! Permanent Modification!

Well after so much time of struggles, as many on here are or have been, we finally got
in the paper work for our permanent mod!

We completed the trial payments and now our 1st permanent payment is due Sept.1st.
No problem, but in terms of cash flow.....I have had a 15th of the month grace period before
and just curious would they accept our first perm. mod.payment in the grace period too??

I am so so grateful to this board and the many moderators who have been so helpful. Keep the faith
    everybody!!!

what were the terms of your permanent mod? Just curious ... was this for the DOJ program or an in-house mod?
