Waiting for Tax transcript from IRS

Background, I got behind on my mortgage in October 2010 due to a difficult pregnancy, I was able to get a forebearance that ended in November 2011, since then I have been actively seeking a loan modification, I first did my modification package in December 2011, they kept saying I was missing, Infomation, finally in February i was told that they had everything and I was going to Underwriting. In April I was kicked out of underwriting due to an error on their part regarding my title. My case reopened mid April, every since I have been in underwriting no information needed. I call every week no change. Today when I called I was told that they are waiting on my transcripts from the IRS. Do anyone have any idea if that means I'm closer to getting a decision. Any input would be appreciated.

Welcome and thanks for joining the community.

It is extremely common for the servicer to loose paperwork when you first apply for a loan mod and make it to where you must send in the package multiple times before it is fully complete. It sounds like your file is now with underwriting and they are waiting on the transcripts to fully complete their review.

If you feel you need assistance negotiating with your lender you can try a nonprofit housing counselor like HOPE or NACA. Please keep in mind that these organizations are not mortgage cure alls or a one stop shop. You'll also want to keep in constant contact with your servicer and you must keep on top of this the whole time if you truly wanna save your home.

You definitely will want stick around this forum and feel free to join other discussions. Most everyone here is a homeowner just like you and going through the same things.

Please keep us updated and I wish you the best the luck in your fight!
