    BOA Sent an inspector to my house

    I was in the front yard watering yesterday and this guy pulls up in his car, gets out and comes up to me and asks if I'm S.T. I tell him yes and he hands me this piece of paper and tells me to contact Bank of America. The piece of paper says BOA has sent an inspector to my house to determine the occupancy and security of my house and to call them regarding my account. I assume it's regarding my 2nd mortgage. My 1st was permanently modified back in April of last year and is current. Haven't paid my 2nd for about 2 1/2 years. Could it be that they're preparing to offer a settlement? Or is it normal procedure and they're just checking if I still live here?

    Well I'm doing my best to follow Tom's "Strategy on Settling Your 2nd" but I guess I'll go ahead and give them a call even though I feel it in my gut that it's going to be a wast of time .LOL

    You don't have to contact them, if the loan is serviced as well as backed by BofA, maybe you will be another member who receives the letters that are going out for extinguishing the second lien. There have been a flood of them recently posted on the success stories thread here;

    When a second sends a property inspector it means two things. The second is planning on foreclosing or they are looking at extiguishing it.

    Jeffrey,

    Not necessarily - my second sent various people to my house at about 4-6 months and to date has offered nothing (we're 100 percent under on the second). One guy showed up at 8pm at night in the cold of winter, with a cellphone in hand telling me my second needed to talk to me and wanting to put me on HIS phone. I was livid and unnerved at the same time. They also sent at least one real estate agent to take pics and someone else that may have been an appraisor that walked onto my property and when I asked who they were they told me who sent them and that my second would be making an offer to settle, which never came. The last I've seen of anyone from my second was 7 or 8 months ago, My first still shows up monthly to confirm occupancy.

    oh..so they do come around every month...I had an inspector come out couple of months ago...maybe a month after that..received the approved DOJ letter...the other day...i saw him parked in front of my neighbors house, as soon as my son pulled out of the driveway..he swooped and took pics, but did not knock like the first time.

    So I ended up calling and sure enough it was a waste of time. They just wanted to know when I was going to make a payment. I told them I couldn't and so she urged me to submit my financial info to see about qualifying for 2MP.
