IS THERE SUCH THING AS A HAFA DEED IN LIEU??? BOA seems to not know anything about it!

I qualified for HAFA last June, had my property up for short sale for 9 months. After BOA declined 4 offers (some as little as $3-5K difference) my real estate agent walked. Next was supposed to be the option for HAFA Deed in Lieu - with debt foregivenss and relocation $$.

They keep sending me to the regular deed in lieu office and they don't seem to know anything about this well-advertised process on their website. Does anyone have a number for this department??? I am calling 877-430-3411 and still not being told this is HAFA DIL!!

It has been 3 months since my last short sale denial and my home went off the market. I am not getting anything from them about the next step!

Here try contacting the executive team and see if they can help you get your account escalated and in review for the HAFA deed in lieu.

Link to Guidelines for HAFA Deed in Lieu

    http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/programs/exit-gracefully/Pages/hafa.aspx

Here is general link for HAFA

But once I get in front of my PC, (i am not home right now) I will look up the guidelines for BofA specifically and either cut & paste a copy to forward to you or give you link to them. I just recently went to their seminar and was given a lot of information on their process.

Thanks Melissa, here is the link I believe you are referring to. On BofA's site it does not seem to mention the HAFA deed in lieu and only mentions the HAFA short sale and the traditional deed in lieu..

Here also is the updated matrix as of June 1st for loans that are non GSE (not owned by Fannie or Freddie) and it also doesn't state the DIL as being HAFA. The contacts also list the same number you are calling for the DIL Dept.

Even with the traditional DIL, they still will offer compensation for moving expenses.

If you sign your home over to us in a deed in lieu of foreclosure, you may be eligible to receive up to $3,000 to help you with moving, rental and relocation expenses.
