    Notary for final mod

Does anyone know if you have to use the notary that BOA requests or can you get someone else to do it? Thanks!

any notary that has a stamp that isn't expired should be acceptable.

Go to a BOA branch...they'll do it for free...

WE had an in house mod and we had to notorize the docs with their mobile notary because the mobile notary actually receives the docs to be signed. The copy you receive via FedEx are for review and your copy.

But be sure to make copy of the pages that are notorized to put with your copy. And the notary drops them off to FedEx. Make sure you keep a copy of the airbill as well

    Re: Notary for final mod

I received 3 copies of the documents via FedEx; two had to be returned to BOA and one was for my records. All three were notarized.

I think in-house mods are different from MHA mods.

Thanks for all your posts. I'm waiting for an in-house mod Fedex, and have the notary picked out. By the way, in CA banks don't have notary services like in other states.

    Re: Notary for final mod

I am taking my loan modification to get it notarized and I have 3 copies but on the page for signatures there is not a place for the notary to sign. Was anyone else's final mod like this? I have a HAMP modification. Please advise! Thanks!

jkelley: My mod was like that.

Our notary drew a line for his signature, signed on the line and then dated it and stamped it.

Thanks AzGryffindor! I will have it done that way. I found a sample Acknowledgement Cert online, but I am afraid it might get lost by BOA if I attach it to the modification. We all know how they are with paperwork!
