after chp13 BK filing, can you still apply for credit card?

I just recently filed chp13 bk and my credit is shot... Now, I'm trying to book a rental car since I need to visit my family in canada.. Part of car rental requirement is having a major credit card.. Can I apply for a new credit card after filing chp13? Do I need speciall authorization from trustee to do so? I don't really plan to use this CC since I learn from mistakes already but I just need it for unavoidable stuffs like rentals, etc.. I appreciate anyones tips and advise...

If you are currently in the middle of a Chapter 13 I do not think it will be possible to secure a credit card at this time. Maybe after the bk is complete you can get a bad credit cc or something of that nature, but not too sure while in active bk. Give your bk attorney a call when you get a chance and ask them if they had any clients that have secured financing while in bk in the past..

Evan is right, you cannot get a credit card while in an active BK program – at least not unless the BK court approves it. Can you get a bank visa/debit type card and use that?

Why Can't you get a debit card through your bank that has Visa. I have used a debit card to rent cars.It doesn't have to be a strict CC.
