My mother got conned into a ponzi scheme. Long story short she took out HELOC and got burned.

She is 69 years old. Has no income other than SS and is taking care of my sister who has a heart condition.

I realize she is not underwater and has equity. But is there any hope that she can settle with the 2nd?

Her health is bad and due to her age she will never end up paying off the mortgage.

Would BK help her save the house and settle or remove the 2nd? Any chance she can get some of her debt forgiven.

Everything I have research points to her being out of luck but I am hoping for a miracle for the poor lady
