Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Breach of Contract? My husband and I took a leave of absence from our AZ employer to deal with a family medical emergency. We worked for this employer for 2 yrs, then transferred to another department within the organization . Part of the verbal agreement for the new department was that we would receive training. We each worked in the new department for 3 months, and the DAY the new training classes were to start were told "by the way, you need to sign the 30 month contract that states if you leave the job prior to completion you will repay $15,000 (each) for the cost of the training." We both signed (like idiots) because we were told we could not work in that department (and did not have our old positions) unlesss we signed the contract. We received letters yesterday stating that we needed to begin repaying the $, since we had not completed the continous 30 month contract. Where do I find information on AZ employment laws? Really cannot afford a lawyer right now(as we are in foreclosure) and am willing to do the leg work. Thanks for any replies. |
