This is for an investment property which is upside down considerably. I have explained to OneWest Bank Loan Settlement Officer that the house is completely upside and I would like to settle the HELOC for less than the balance. I have also supplied them with proof of current value on the home, but their settlement offer is much more than I can afford. This Loan Settlement Officer says this is their only offer and he will not go down on his offer. I also told him that if I were not able to negotiate the HELOC, I might lose the house altogether, which meant that they would not get anything at all. He continued his refusal to negotiate despite the fact that I might lose the house and/or might be filling for bankruptcy. Does anyone out there know someone at OneWest Bank that might listen to me? Or is there an attorney who can help me negotiate this loan settlement with OneWest Bank? |
