dthom and j-nice, thanks for the info. When HSBC sells my account to a collection agency, won't I receive stuff from them in the mail? I haven't received anything yet, just a letter from HSBC themselves telling me that they will 'forgive' some of the balance, if I agree to make three payments of $280. Now, if I had that kind of money, I would be paying my bills to begin with.
