I checked Fannie and Freddie and we are not owned by either..called WaMu and they said it is WaMu owned.
I have over 30K in CC debt, especially now with all the late fees and penalties.
Did a little checking on the tax issue and found a site online that said that the CC company will send you a 1099 (if forgiven amount is over $600) but you do not need to claim on your taxes IF you were insolvent (negative net worth) at the time of the settlement. This is good news for some....like US
