i was just approved for a loan mod and drastic reduction in my mtg payment. I feel like it is a second chance for me to correct the errors I made with my use of credit. In addition to completely paying off my credit cards, i will close all but one of them for emergency purposes. Like you, i was a slave to my fico score and paid heavily for it.

this entire experience has made me a better person and very cautious of banks and their products. I only pay cash for my purchases and plan to do so unless i truly am unable to.
