I read into a lot of details of the Obama plan on the Fannie Mae webpage. For Fannie Mae loans at least, Fannie Mae is requiring the servicers to report the trial period as forbearance and they go into great detail about how that is to be reported to the credit bureau (as a late payment). I don’t think Chase has an option so complaining to them will probably not help. However I find it very hard to fathom that part of the intent of the Homeowners ASSISTANCE Program involves damaging the credit of those who have been able to make the short term sacrifices necessary to continue to make payments on time to protect their credit. That seems awfully backwards to me too.
