@Irish Gal -- we came to the same conclusion as well, that NACA is a grassroots org that is definitely overwhelmed. But we also got a shady counselor too...even the supervisor didn't understand why our counselor wasn't responding to us (and some other clients that complained also) and didn't submit our loan mod request until 5 months later. I now have a copy of what he entered as expenses in our request vs. what we entered via the web, and sure enough, the guy increased the amount of our monthly expenses by $300, and included another $500 of liabilities that do not exist...including $300 of charge off/collections when we have ZERO, and student loan payments that are in forebearance. This all left a deficit of about $650, vs. the surplus of $150 that we came to him with.
I'm not sure what the next step is...is it even worth complaining about this, or just resubmitting (which it seems like we'll have to do regardless) and getting verification of the affordability calculation prior to the loan mod going to
