I would not recommend going with a loan modification. We did and they really have been no help. We went through 3 negotiators, each of whom had to be updated on our file and what we were trying to achieve. The movement on our file was very slow, so slow that we had to update our financials 3 times. Save your money and go through NACA.

Just a note - we paid $5000 - after 6 months, we got lucky (if you can call it that) and the loan mod group offered $2000 back (which we took). Now we're back to on our own.
