My dad's loan was sold to the Bank of NY....Countrywide told me they weren't doing anything with these loans. My father is not late on his mortgage (this is the only home he has and no other mortgages) and he has perfect credit. This is such a mess. We have contacted a bankruptcy atty and it looks like he is going through with the bankruptcy to survive at this time. I hate to see him have to do it at this point in his life.....Will this hurt modification efforts we are trying for? I was told that he could buy a new home two years after bankruptcy does this apply to modification also?
