Was your loan a subprime loan? I'm not sure if Countrywide would consider a reduction if your loan was a conventional fixed rate....it is unfortunate, but houses are investments and as such can go up and down. It would be good if you could find something that was not right in your documents....that might help. Good luck with it - I'm sure it is very stressful.
