Just a thought... would filing for a deferment (not that I have much of a choice) hurt my chances of a modification later or even maybe refinancing with another company? I left a note on another thread about my neighbor. She went with a third party negotiator and got a new loan with a lower fixed rate AND a $120k principle reduction. Should I look into this? Should I be concerned?
