America's Servicing Company -- Success Story!

Hi there,

Not sure where I should put this thread so I thought I should will start by adding my story into this forum. Please feel free to move this to other area.

I had my primary loan serviced by ASC and my loan was supposed to reset on 5/2008. I called ASC on 4/2008 and was pre-approved for loan modifcation. I was instructed (via certified mail) to make 3 good faith payments... 1 on May, 1 on June, and 1 on July. The loan mod would happen after the three good faith payments. Overall my experience with them were good. They made some mistakes along the way (like accidentally removed the lock for no-reporting to agencies, etc) but they manage to fix it in a timely manner. My loan modification was completed in mid September with the first new payment to start on Nov 1st. All my information was changed by late October and I just made my new first payment last week... So I think this is it for me for now.. I have a second loan that I need to work on now, but the amount is much smaller.

In general, ASC is a terrible company to work with (they give you conflicting information, and they are generally late in processing your paperwork)... But they do have some nice people working in there. So the key are 1) To call the right place. Once you've started the loan Mod process, always call the ART department. 2) Try to beg them to transfer you to the supervisor (called the Work Director. There is only of him in the entire ART department and he is VERY nice). 3) Call them *ALL* the time.

Generally the mis-information by ASC came from the fact that they have three different departments with three different computer systems. None of them are linked. So my advice is: Once you got approval/pre-approval for loan mod. Ignore the customer service department and collections department... ONLY deal with the ART group.

**ALSO.... because they their computers aren't link, once you finished the good faith payments and before they actually approved your mod, you are considered LATE/Delinquent and you *WILL* receive some annoying/threatening emails. You can ignore them... Just continue to work with the ART group until you are approved and your recorded is changed. I lost a lot of sleep over those mails, and now I realized I was being silly **

Good luck... since I am working with Ocwen on my second loan. A lot of people here helped me out when I was in need. So I want to make sure that I am around to help out as well

P.S.: My loan was at 7.5%.. with a 1.5 adjustment every 6 months. Now I am at 6% for 30 years
