You are not sounding incredibly stupid. This is a learning curve for all of us who are not in the industry, hell I am in healthcare I know nothing about this S???. But you learn, baby steps... and we here will have your back all the way. Now what I beleive Cat was recommending is that you email your hardship letter to the email addresses she provided to you in her earlier post, all mortgages are held by investors, some investors will work with you some will not but you will not know till you send off that email. And please do not send it as an attachemnt as they will not open attachments. Once that is off you should hear something in a fairly reasonable amout of time. Hang in there you will be fine
