My approach was to be upfront with everyone. I dont have children but before I stopped making payments I spoke to my immediate neighbors and told them what I planned to do. I also told them that I thought there was a very real possiblity that my home would end up in foreclosure. They asked some questions but all told they were understanding and non-judgemental.
