Thanks that was helpful. I have an FHA loan serviced by Chase and am 7 months behind and was in foreclosure/auction date. They told me (and the FHA guidelines do state this) that they have to try any other modification,forebearance or other option first before they can consider you for the FHA HAMP. If the guidelines state that would you have to default on the other programs first? They did the 3 month "trial" plan for me /forebearance,not sure that was a good idea but it got my auction date cancelled. Any suggestions or ideas? You can argue against the guidelines can u?
