This is a rather long post, but please read..it may help someone else.

Hello, Ms. Desoer:

I was given your email on a blog to write about CW nightmares with modifications.I am praying that you can help me.
My name is Mary Lange and I live in Graham, NC. I have a mortgage with Countrywide/BOA, and I need some help. I have been calling and requesting help from Countrywide since October of 2008, under the
"Help for Homeowners" program that President Obama initiated. I have even went through the HUD web page and was put in touch with a counselor to help me with it. He got the same answer as I did, to refinance with an interest rate that is still not low enough to help me.
I know you are busy, but let me give you a little background as to why I am asking.
I am a 53 year old female, living in Graham, NC. My spouse of 17 years passed away last July 25, (almost a year now :'( ).He is on the mortgage with me, and I do not make enough to afford this
house on my salary alone, the house payment comprising 51% of my income. I have been using my retirement to supplement the payment, and I will soon have no retirement at all.
I feel I qualify for a Financial Hardship Loan Modification, and have a steady income to keep the payments up, if I can get the interest rate reduced. My house is also "upside down" with the value as well.
I owe $148,500 and the value has been shown to be $105,000, according to my Realtor, who compares sales
of homes close to mine in value and size in my area. No chance for a sale. There are foreclosures going on all around me and I fear that I will be going the same way.
My credit score is 835 and I have been told by CW I have to be behind 3 payments, ruining my credit to get help???
I have worked all my life for my credit and can not see how this would help me at all. I had all the necessary documents when I had the counseling session Consumer Credit Counseling, a HUD designated agency back in the first week of June.
I was not even asked for any documentation.
I do not where else to turn. Please let me know that you can help me keep my home? end of email

Now,since this email, I was contacted by Cindy Repreza of BOA and told that my case had been "escalated" and that they would be in contact with me. I did get a call from Ms. Repreza,requesting all my documents for the loan mod., saying she would call me with the name of a negotiator. I faxed them directly to her. I heard nothing for another week. Then, another call,from Tobie Nguyen, asking for the same paperwork again. Again, I faxed it. Another week passes, got a call from Ms. Repreza, with another name, Suzanne Bain, who was in charge of the negotiator assigned to my case, not Tobie Nguyen. The NEW negotiator was to call within 24 hours or I was to call Ms. Bain and tell her. I did and she said she would have the neg. call me back. No call. Waited a week and called again. Same answer, she would have her call.
By now it is August and another house payment is coming up.
Now, this is where I almost lost my mind! My best friend, who is in the exact same situation as I am, had her first late payment due the 16th of July. July 31, she received a FedEx from BOA offering a loan modification
cutting her payment in HALF! SHE NEVER APPLIED FOR ONE!!!
This took exactly 15 days!! I am happy for her, BUT WHY IS MINE TAKING SO LONG???? Because I have not been late??? I have been given the runaround for almost a year now and I am sick to death of these lies. So today, I am emailing Ms. Desoer again,with the same info, BUT I am including all the media addresses given in the previous thread,my congressman, Mr. Howard Coble, and Obama's office.
I WANT THE NEWS AND MY CONGRESSMAN TO KNOW HOW I AM STRUGGLING HERE!
By the time the next payment is due, I will have boxed up my belongings and let BOA have the house. My health is being affected(diabetic) and I am not willing to risk my life to be dragged along by BOA.
I will follow up on this post iwhen and ifI hear anything, so please, if anyone else knows of anything to help, please post.
