Re: Emc loan modification application

Just got an unprompted call from my negotiator, Irene. Missed her call and called right back. Spoke to Robert, who incidentally, I have spoken to on two other occasions. Have to say that I am impressed with his level of customer service. I was on the phone with him for about 30 minutes asking him question after question about the process. He patiently and politely answered all my questions and apologized profusely about the length of time it has taken to process the applications. He said that they are frustrated as well about not having all the tools that they need to process the huge backlog of applications. At last word, they were informed that things should be in place before the end of this month. Before I could even protest that we have been hearing that same song for the past few months, he added the caveat, "of course, we have heard that before".

Anyway, when we got around to talking about why my negotiator was calling, he said she was calling to tell me that I needed to complete the new "HAMP hardship affidavit" and to send it in ASAP so that my application will remain in a state of complete readiness for processing by the underwriters as soon as they receive the tool.

I promptly downloaded the new forms from their website, totalling 11 pages long. The new forms are actually different from the one we submitted in April. According to Robert, the new forms came out last week. For those of us with our files already submitted to underwriting, they only need us to complete Section 3 of the forms which is four pages long. I did so and faxed it back immediately to them.

As much as I am hurting and "robbing Peter to pay Paul", psychologically, my conversation with Robert and the call from my negotiator made me feel a little bit better today. Will see what happens next week.
