(Source: Robin Fitzgerald The Sun Herald (MCT) — An employee of Whispering Pines Golf Course has been arrested on an embezzlement charge involving more than $2,000, Sheriff Mike Byrd said.
He identified her as Susan Michelle Bouler, 42, of Bragg Road in Moss Point.
The golf course, on Mississippi 613 in the Hurley community, had contacted the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Aug. 15 about missing money.
Detectives discovered Bouler was to have made two bank deposits totaling $2,104.87, but the money was not put into the golf course checking account, Byrd said.
Investigators arrested Bouler at her home Tuesday.
“It’s a county-owned business with county employees,” the sheriff said. “She not working there now. She’s in jail.”
Bouler was held at the county jail pending a court appearance.
Embezzlement carries maximum penalties of 10 years in jail and a $10,000 fine.
